Environmental safeguarding and monitoring have become increasingly important issues.

The alteration of the delicate balance of nature, highlighted in recent decades by relevant phenomena as hydrogeological events, climate change, pollution of soil, water and air, require drastic corrective actions.

Thanks to the prompt and cost-effect monitoring of large areas, drones represent the ideal solution to support public and private entities in this important task.

The periodic monitoring of seismic and hydrogeological risk areas and the photogrammetric reconstruction of the images acquired during the flight allows the control of land morphology and its variation over time, enabling predictive analysis to prevent future risks.

Environmental control includes a wide range of applications, as rivers, canals and water basins monitoring, pollution analysis, Nature reserves and protected areas safeguarding, forest resources management and planning according to “precision forestry”, silviculture and wood arboriculture techniques.

Drone monitoring activities also allow efficient actions in case of damages caused by man such as fires, unauthorized hunting and fishing and illegal waste dumping.

Last but not least, the assessment of the state of health of trees and shrub vegetation in urban ecosystems is of ever greater importance, both to ensure our quality of life and to monitor the safety of the urban green heritage, with the aim of preventing or reducing the risks caused by increasingly frequent extreme climate events.
